There is not enough explanation in this book. It has more of a scholarly tone to it - but still quite friendly to the beginner. This is the longest chapter in the book and one of my favorites.Chapter 3 deals with standards and definitions. Book was delivered in great condition. Yet she believed a wounded soldier needed a motherly woman's touch. It made it clear to me that the period is to be considered on its own and not as a preparation to neoclassicism or a part of Italian sculpture (this may sound obvious and of course it is, but my way of looking at the works was always blurred by too much thinking of Italy or Canova).So much for the benefits of the book. Not speaking or reading German myself, I have to rely on my friends about the quality of the translation. I have been sitting on this for a few days because I honestly don't know what to write. Some take us on journeys to strange and foreign places. While still worthwhile for completists, those who want to get an introduction to Torpedo are better advised to explores volumes 2, 3 and 4. I am a practicing ecologist and I am working on a second masters degree in ecoliteracy education. I found this very useful.Chapter 12 (the last chapter in Part II) connects everything in tables - these tables have already proven very useful for me.Part III (Assigning Technologies to Solutions) applies the tools from Part II
