From the Inside FlapIn his twelfth poetry collection, Adrian Louis slays Indian Country's centuries-old demons and confronts his own grief upon losing his wife to Alzheimers, revealing a writer at his peak and a poet unafraid to take chances.

In "Savage Sunsets," he writes candidly about his wife's battle with Alzheimers and how the disease steals away their waning days together. There is no room for misinterpretation; his diction is as clear-cut as a logged forest. In his twelfth poetry collection, Adrian Louis slays Indian Country's centuries-old demons and confronts his own grief upon losing his wife to Alzheimers, revealing a writer at his peak and a poet unafraid to take chances. In "Archaeology," Louis writes about the Anglo invasion of Indian Country and its loss of Native traditions, language, and history. As the sun sets on his wife's life and on Indian Country, Louis remains stalwart, a bold emissary who has lived to tell.

His poetry collection Logorrhea was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

. Louis, who holds an MFA from Brown University, has taught at Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Louis is from northern Nevada and is an enrolled member of the Lovelock Paiute Tribe. A former newspaper man and founding member of the Native American Journalists Association, Louis has authored short stories in Wild Indians and Other Creatures, an award-winning novel, Skins, and ten books of poetry, including Among the Dog Eaters and Fire Water World by West End Press.

this book is full of grammatical errors--you cannot even follow the English. Once you crack this book open, you won't be able to stop turning the 250 pages of incredible photography. As documentation of these marvelous guitars, they fall far short. This is where the characters opened up to me, how intimately I got to know them. This is the longest chapter in the book and one of my favorites.Chapter 3 deals with standards and definitions. As a working mother, I feel like I am supposed to LOVE this book. Things from what you need to get started, proper poses, information on the financial side of things, hair/makeup application, walking, and checklists for what you need to buy. This is the best way to internalize and change forever. Don't let me discourage you, it is a good read, just not quite what I'd have preferred in style or pacing, felt more Marvel than Spawn; things wrapped up a little too nicely.. This is a must have because it show s you a ton info on how to really baseline your systems performance great, great book.. I, personally, have sent copies of this book to friends in my own country to explain, better than I ever could, what it is like living here. It does have an interesting, and some might find it helpful, technique for learning
