As I was reading NOT ALWAYS HAPPENSTANCE I felt like I was right there on the island, smelling all the sweet flowers, staring out into the ocean, waiting for Lani and Easton to see what is right there in front of their faces. This argument does not foreclose the possibility of a technology of ethics founded on unsystematized preferences and ends, in which normative judgments to that extent possess relevance.
