What I love about this book is that the projects are not overwhelming because each part is broken down into easy to follow steps with accompanying photos. Also included in the appendices are forms and templates.Overall this is one of the most useful books for the practicing software engineer. This is the best way to internalize and change forever. It takes too much for granted and simply called to deliver. But I have always been inspired by this lifestyle even as a little girl. That author tends to interject his own views into the story. This is one of those books with a price range all over the spectrum. Niemann starts out with "The Sustainable Garden" and then moves through "The Backyard Orchard," "The Backyard Poultry Flock," "The Home Dairy," and the "The Home Fiber Flock." Certainly the first three topics are within the reach of most readers, even if they don't have acreage or a "homestead," per se.But if you are like me--leery of creating a herd of goats or even a cow or two, or didn't know how to accomplish the basics of homegrown to table--this book gives great ideas and encouragement in creating a viable homestead, wherever you live.
