In some ways, I think it's still a 5-star book; it's certainly not a 1-star book (ahem) and therefore, as I've done on other reviews, I'm OK giving a "bump" to counteract that.That said, in the last chapter and a half, Grandy at least comes close to jumping off the rails. Was really disappointed when it ended. Then watch the film again!. This, third in the Niccolo series is a wonderful book that depicts the unsettledness of the Island of Cyprus. Even in "Chapter 17: Advanced Coding and Memory Handling", there is barely any mention of heap and stack (SRAM) versus static (flash) memory. The card images are crystal clear. Just an observation.. Torpedo 5 is the last collection of Torpedo 1936 stories. What if he had lived decades longer? He could have seen the immense flowering of computing, in hardware and software. Which makes all the other little things I was willing to overlook, like the lack of character development, glaringly obvious. It doesn't fall apart at all, which is probably the most important thing to say. However, the image selection is severely lacking. He struggles to find food and shelter daily and finally meets up with a smart, street-wise girl named Kit. the only drawbacks is the bulky gargantuan size of the book, the gargantuan price,no photos and the teeny-weeny print.
