It is a magical quality in Erik's poetic and profound translation that is difficult to find among the many translations of Dzogchen that appear these days. It is extraordinarily well-written and enjoyable, in part because Reback is a practicing attorney dealing with concrete issues with real clients that are familiar to anybody that has worked in the IT sector. One is that Dublin was indeed a refuge (another was Flanders) for a lot of refugee thanes and Saxon huscarls who exiled themselves and lost their lands in the years following 1066. This is such an easy and delightful read but the best part is the fact that the book exudes enthusiasm and wonderful stories. It is lively and readable, and is chock full of fascinating cases and interesting anecdotes. This constitutes a pattern that makes the book a rather dull read. It adds so much to this book.
